Project Management for CRM implementation for financial services client. Led client through a bid and selection process culminating in the choice of SIEBEL Systems CRM. Converted from a DOS-based system with BTRIEVE database to SIEBEL Financial Services v. 6.0 on NT 4.0 and SQL Server 7.0. Migration of 15 years of customer data, plus development of interfaces for their website and outside vendors.Project Management for the redesign and conversion of SchaeffersResearch.com. Redesigned award-winning website with 1/2 million monthly visitors while also converting to Microsoft.NET (C #). Monthly visitors have risen over 100% since re-launch in October, 2003.
Authored the technical plans for an US EPA grant application for the Miami Valley River Index, a proposed water quality monitoring program featuring live data feeds and a public website to view the data. This $475,000 grant was awarded. Designed and implemented the distributed data collection network (using FTP and SQL Server 7.0), the processing of the data using SQL stored procedures, and the publication of the data via the website.
Project Management for implementation of environmental ERP system with Oracle back-end database at chemical manufacturing facility. Developed proposal, work plan, staffing plan and budget. Facilitated client meetings and served as senior technical resource.
Implemented environmental ERP system for paper manufacturer, with emphasis on developing Microsoft Access-based custom reporting features, integrated into Oracle back-end database. Also included designing automated process for conversion of thousands of documents into Adobe Acrobat format.

Increased productivity of in-house sales force by creating a daily "call list" function using SQL Server stored procedures and Visual Basic to search customer database every night and generate targeted lists of customers for each sales force member each day. Added functionality to facilitate scheduling of follow-up calls. Created web-based "dashboard" of penetration and conversion statistics, updated every night.
Created staffing plan for IT department of major regional banking institution. Staffing plan laid out roles, functions, education/experience required, and skills assessment criteria for all levels of IT organization.
Managed conversion from Groupwise 5.5 to Microsoft Exchange 2000. Guided technical staff in conversion process, oversaw training program for company personnel, performed system conversion at time of implementation, controlled problem resolution after conversion.
Managed conversion from Novell 4.11 to Microsoft Windows Server 2003 for network and file storage. Migration included implementing Active Directory. Negotiated significant cost savings from manufacturers to bring in project at 40% less than original estimate, thus allowing for modernizing file back-up systems as part of the project.
Completely redesigned LAN network of over two dozen servers and one hundred workstations. Re-organized existing switch hierarchy and added new switching equipment to improve network speed.
Negotiated a 1/3 reduction in local and long-distance costs by opening the bidding process to more bidders and joining the phone contract with the internet access contract. The cost of more than doubling internet bandwidth was more than covered by the phone contract savings. Subsequently re-negotiated and reduced internet access costs by another 1/3 while doubling available bandwidth.
Designed and built Microsoft Access-based application for an area software developer to sell to roller skating facilities. Program manages sales, inventory, staffing, events and parties/clubs, with integrated customer database and mass mailing capabilities. Participated in planning and execution of marketing efforts for the application, including presentation at annual convention of national roller skate association.
Designed proposal generator in Microsoft Access for Goldmine-based distributed sales force program to increase productivity of sales force, reduce order processing time and cut down on data entry errors.
Designed project for utility billing systems integration for southwest Ohio utility company looking to acquire other local utility systems.

Led development of RSS feeds and XML-driven web services for distributing data and content to major web portals. Included business development work of identifying potential partners, making presentations and negotiating distribution deals.Developed proposals for and implemented project management websites for environmental projects at five Navy installations. Project management websites included public information and private, secure areas. Login-restricted features included project calendars, online libraries of documents (workplans, designs, lab test results, etc.), and forums/discussion boards. Select sites included a document review process for streamlining the preparation and review of documents by personnel in multiple locations. Select sites included implementation of web-based geographic information systems (GIS) to display test results geographically.
Designed and built website for tracking Commercial Mortgage-Backed Securities (CMBS). Subscriptions to this website were sold to individual investors and financial institutions trading in the CMBS market.
In conjunction with Dow Jones, designed and implemented the first stock index for Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs). Created a subscription-based website for display and analysis of this index.
Designed and built website for display of financial and property data on Real Estate Investment Trusts. Managed data entry team who pulled data from SEC filings and corporate reports and entered data via Visual Basic program into a Sybase SQL back-end database. Subscriptions to the website were sold to individual investors and financial institutions.
Designed and created comprehensive, online media repository for use by marketing and sales staff of major international computing company. Site hosts photos, documents, presentation templates and testimonials in a password-controlled environment linked via Microsoft Web Services for integration into main company website.
Designed and constructed web-based staffing and workload management tool for a leading international engineering firm. Staffing portion of application stored qualifications of staff at each office to assess mix/distribution of staff, allow searching for staff for projects and re-assignment of staff based on project load. Workload management tool tracked anticipated workloads by employee to allow for analysis and identification of future bottlenecks in time and resources.
Upgraded e-commerce segment of financial services website to include shopping cart features and tracking of "abandoned" carts. Abandoned cart follow-up marketing has generated thousands in sales every year since. Added prompts to the online sales process for related impulse items, resulting in significant add-on sales annually.
Designed and built project management website for local architect. Site has secure login to allow architect, contractors and client to view project status, review current tasks (including pictures of work completed, project plans and designs), manage budget and communicate through "instant messaging" system.
Re-designed website for education department of major university, with a heavy emphasis on recruitment. Authored style guide for use in applying to subsidiary sites and additional content.
Built web-based customer self-qualification system for local manufacturer. System walks customers through the initial sales process to help narrow down their interests and provide initial cost estimates before forwarding information to in-house sales force.
Designed and built web-based change order management system for major utility system in Washington, DC area. System tracked change orders from time of origin through the review and approval process to implementation.
Implemented web-based geographic information system with Oracle back-end database for major oil services client. System displayed critical environmental data for oil field site, with overlays of area features and internal landmarks. System included search and filter capabilities to target analysis, as well as full suite of reports.
Created web-based online "classroom" for bible study program for a growing area church. Secure system requires login, tracks users' progress through lessons, allows for dialogue via discussion board and facilitates student-mentor interaction. This system has been expanded to Spanish and Russian versions to support international missionary efforts.

Designed and constructed data warehouse for options-related data using SQL Server 7.0. Warehouse holds daily statistics for pricing, volume and related data on stocks and options. Current database size is in excess of 250 million records.Created in-house system for tracking millions of marketing emails sent each month by financial services client. System tracks open rates, click thru rates and sales at the user level, while allowing for aggregation at the campaign level. Web-based "dashboard" re-calculates campaign totals overnight to allow for quicker adjustment of campaigns to maximize results.
Integral to the conversion of five years of quarterly and annual financial statements for over 300 real estate companies to a standardized reporting format to allow for cross-company comparison. Used Microsoft Access-based data entry and processing system to enter and re-classify financial statement line items. Responsible for quality control and auditing of conversion process.
Designed and constructed data warehouse for local government organization that manages groundwater programs. Converted prior data from Dbase and Excel formats to SQL Server 7.0. Designed data entry and data conversion processes for ongoing use. Trained government personnel in use of Microsoft Access to generate reports. Created a website for the public to access the data warehouse and view reports and charts of the data.
Created Microsoft Access-based database for public utility project in northeast Ohio. Database tracked geographic layout of utility system as well as results from inspection and testing. Database included reports with digital photos of worksites and features of the utility network.
