Project Management
I have two objectives for every project: first, exceed requirements; second, deliver on time and at or under budget. Extensive experience in multiple methodologies (SDLC, Agile, RAD). Previous projects include everything from server upgrades to commercial application development to website design to 7-figure ERP projects. Skilled in assembling and managing cross-functional teams. Well-versed in PMI standards and processes.ERP/CRM
Possibly no other technology can make the same impact on your company as ERP, CRM and/or SCM. Done well, knowledge is centralized, processes are streamlined, and productivity and results rise. Done poorly, more is lost than gained, processes break down, stress rises, morale and results fall. A few key factors to successful management of ERP projects are:
- Challenging existing processes and assumptions so the true benefits of a new ERP system will be evident to all
- Involving end users of the system as early as possible in the design process to maximize user acceptance
- After launch, quickly addressing any errors and oversights, so trust in the new system does not erode
Application Development
With a unique blend of project management and programming expertise, I can guide the construction of new applications, with an emphasis on extensible architecture. Having the technical skills necessary to win the confidence of programmers, and the business skills necessary to translate business objectives into technical requirements, I will work with your team to create sustainable, stable product development cycles for the continuing evolution of the product.
I have worked extensively in object-oriented application development, for products to be used internally and to be released commercially.
Website Design
The first and foremost concern with any website design project should be the user experience. Technology comes in second. If you don't understand your audience, and don't design an user experience to match that audience's expectations, no amount of technology bells and whistles will create success. Understanding your audience requires business analysis skills. I have the mix of business analysis skills, project management technique and legitimate programming experience to make your website design project a success.
I have managed the development of over 50 websites, with an emphasis on Microsoft technologies. These sites have included ecommerce, content management, web services, and Web 2.0.
Infrastructure
Two key factors for lasting success of an infrastructure project are properly sizing the new system to allow for future growth and building risk mitigation into the system architecture. Just having sound project management technique is not enough to do this. Having a solid understanding of the underlying technologies, and knowledge of new technological advances, are critical to both of these success factors. I have the technical background necessary, matched with the proper project management technique, to guide your infrastructure project.
