Data warehousing
Designing and managing an effective data warehousing may not be brain surgery, but it can almost be as complex. Dealing with hundreds of millions - maybe billions - of data points is a huge challendge - as is creating a structure that avoids making reporting like finding a needle in haystack. I have designed several data marts/data warehouses containing in excess of a billion records.

Project Success
Designed and constructed data warehouse for options-related data using SQL Server 7.0. Warehouse holds daily statistics for pricing, volume and related data on stocks and options. Current database size is in excess of 250 million records.

Designed and constructed data warehouse for local government organization that manages groundwater programs. Converted prior data from Dbase and Excel formats to SQL Server 7.0. Designed data entry and data conversion processes for ongoing use. Trained government personnel in use of Microsoft Access to generate reports. Created a website for the public to access the data warehouse and view reports and charts of the data.
